Ms. Spearman was hands down my favorite teacher in high school. She encouraged my individuality, supported me in my weak moments and always made me laugh. I am truly saddened that she is no longer with us and I regret not being able to see her and thank her for her kindness, compassion and service to the community before she passed on. Wherever she may be, I hope she knows how loved she is.

As a junior at PHS, I had English class in the room next door to Mrs. Spearman's. 25 years later, I taught English in the room next door to Mrs. Spearman's. Do the math. Thousands of students taught and lives touched. This is a huge loss for the community and the PHS family...my condolences.

Doug and Beverly, Mary Jane and Woody: Your family has always been special to ours. Such found memories of Kay--a favorite was at your house when she interviewed me (I was a little girl) for one of her college research papers. I loved having that "job" and thought she was so smart and cool! And she was. Hugs and prayers. Love you all, Mary Margaret (McLaughlin)
