Leonard C. Wicks, 82, of Pace, Florida, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. A native of Alabama, he was born in Jackson County. He was preceded in death by his parents, W.F. and Annie Wicks; two brothers, Benny and Raymond; one sister, Helen; his son, Richard LeBron Wicks; and his daughter, Pamela Denise Collier. He is lovingly survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Carter Wicks, and two children, daughter Teresa Lynn Lawrence (Larry) and son Len Wicks, along with one sister, Colleen Puryear and one brother-in-law, Zac Carter. Leonard was "Granddaddy" to four grandchildren, Stephanie, Zackery, Staci, and Brittany along with six great grandchildren. He was a member of the United States Army and was a 50 year member of the Lookout Valley Masonic Lodge 673. He moved to Pace, Florida, in 1958 to work at American Cyanamid until he retired in 1993. He was an active member of Pine Terrace Baptist Church and Milton Community Choir. Leonard loved his family and was very enamored with his grandchildren. He enjoyed fellowship with his church family and community choir singings. He played the guitar and encouraged his family in their gospel music.
