Dad I can't believe it has been 10 years tomorrow when I last saw your face. I wasn't ready for that, no one was. We all went to Iowa to be with you and I remember how beautiful and at complete peace your face was as you peacefully passed. You knew we were all there before you took your last breath. I can't tell you how many times I wish I could reach out to you for your wisdom and unconditional love. I miss hearing your voice dad, I miss you. I love you Papi It won't let me say daughter below, and I wanted to share this photo because I know you two are together and you might have even played patty cake with Dean. :}

I used to have lunch at Zakeers restaurant in Fort Dodge in the early 1980's when we worked across the street from each other. We also partied at Newcomers events with he and Sandy during several occasions. I still remember his quick wit and warm disposition. We also played golf with Orin after he and Sandy moved to Echo VAlley in Norwalk and shared lunch at their home that Sandy prepared along with the Krager and Lynch couples who were also good Fort Dodge friends. We all shared some really good times together. It's nice to remember good friends. Thanks for reminding us about the passing of this good man. It makes his absence seem very recent.

I am grateful for the images, but I am sad when I wake up and realize it was only a dream! I wanted to call you the other day to tell you that football has started and realized that I can't!!! So I am telling you through this and I will miss you coming to some of the games!!! I hope to see you tonight...

I will always remember and treasure the many moments spent with my Grandpa. We played many rounds of golf together and I will never forget the joy the game of golf brought to him. I will always think of him when I'm teeing up on my next round.

He is so missed!

Well, it has been one week since my Dad passed and it is still so unbelievable. So many memories keep flooding my thoughts and makes sleep seem like a thing of the past. I know time will ease these racing thoughts but I am left with this emptiness and hole in my heart for the love that I experienced with the greatest man and father ever (other than my husband, Myron). I'll be forever grateful for the opportunity to say, "I love you, Dad" and to hear him say he loved me, too, the last night he was able to talk. He left this world filled with love. Thank you to everyone who has expressed their sympathies here. It means more than our family can say. Love, Jodi Gumbrill Mickelson

Hey Daddio,
I know you were with us yesterday and saw how many people came to honor your life on Father's Day as we gave you your final party here on earth.
I am so proud that I have had the honor of saying you were my father for the past 51 years; you were my rock, my hero, my friend, and most of the best father ever!!!!! Thank you for loving me even when I wasn't that loveable.
I will love, honor, and miss you forever.
Always,
Dayna

Hi Dad!
There are not words that can adequately express my feelings for you but I will try! Most of my life we have been separated by miles but you always made it seem like you were at my side. You would let me know when you were proud, let me know when you were disappointed but always let me know that I was loved and I will never forget that! You are amazing and will always be with me in my heart. I love you, Daddy, and I will see you when I see you!
Always, Laura

My Dad meant the world to me and I am devastated - the loss is more than I can take and I am heartbroken. He will be missed by all who knew him. What a privilege to be his #1 daughter and to be with him and hold his hand as he drew his last breath. He was such a great man and leaves quite a legacy. He was my Pops-A-Million - one in a million - and I loved him with all my heart!

Dad,
I love you so much. Thank you for being the best father in the entire world. I am happy you are at peace now and have gone home. The last thing anyone wanted was for you to suffer and thank God you didn't.
I am going to miss you so much and will love you for all the days of my life. Until I see you again, know how much you are loved.
Your loving daughter,
Dayna (& Roy too)
