Dear Groner Family,
F.S. Groner had the ability to make dreams become realities. I preach in the sanctuary of First Baptist in Stamford which stands as a testimony of his vision. His picture hangs in a gallery of pastor portraits. After reading about Pat's life, it is clear how his son posessed similar ability.
May God bless you during this time.
Sincerely,
Jacob West

Pat Groner will certainly be missed. Great human being and friend to all. Will miss talking to him at Pensacola Regional Airport and a superb pilot, just like Chip.

Jodee and Chip -- you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Chip, my mom and dad never did buy your parents' white house on Dunwoody, like we talked about so much on the playground at Cordova Park Elementary as "probably happening right now" (little did we know), but it was nothing personal, as you know! Still, I can't drive by it on that curve, without thinking what almost was! My dad, of course, was with your dad in many organizations, primarily with Baptist Hospital, and he and my mom considered your parents, as I did both of you, close friends. I'll be there to cry with you this afternoon.

As I read of Mr. Groner's passing, my memories flooded with events that happened when he first came to Pensacola. He was involved with the March of Dimes from which I benefited when I had polio in 1951. Later, I became a nurse, trained at Baptist. He was a wonderful person. May his memory be eternal. My condolences to his family.

Dear Ones,
My husband Phillip and I now live in Tallahassee, but we read of Mr. Groner's passing on the Pensacola News Journal on-line feature. More than fifty years ago my folks, Milton & Mary Frances Richardson lived across the street when "the Groners" moved to Pensacola. Mallory Street back then was a delightful place for youngsters growing up with wonderful, fun families such as the Appleyards, the Hiles, the Moore family, the Flemings and others that I'm sure I'm missing. I remember Jodee's first day of school and her grip on the porch bannister along with her mom's kind response. I also remember Chip, only a tot, putting a pasteboard box over his head to cross the street as if it were not dangerous enough crossing the street alone! I remember Katrina, the family boxer, who loved to stand under the sprinkler. I remember Mr. Groner always calling out from across the street to my dad. He called him 'big Milt" though my dad was not much larger than he was. You see, I remember the wonderful Groner family!
"Groners" we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers during this tender time.
Love,
Julia Ann (Richardson) Cooper

I have cherished memories of spending time in the Groner's home during high school years. Mr. Groner would sometimes take Jodee and I night flying after we came home from our dates. It was so inspiring that I eventually got my pilot's license and enjoyed many years of flying. I thought of Pat Groner the day I soloed. He was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed by friends and his family. I feel certain that the wind of God will forever be beneath his wings and that he is peacefully soaring.
