Paul Morrison Obituary

Paul James

Morrison

December 6, 1954-

March 15, 2013

Paul James Morrison, 58 of Pensacola, passed away Friday, March 15, after a long battle with illness. Born in Pensacola on December 6, 1954, Paul graduated from Woodham High School in 1972 and graduated from Pensacola State College with a degree in Cosmetology. He was a member of the Phi Sigma Tau fraternity.

Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing and water sports. His hobbies were collecting bibles and studying family genealogy. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin who enjoyed making others laugh with his youthful, fun-loving antics, and later in life, offering advice to younger family members.

His grandparents, Archie and Helen Morgan of Molino and Paul Frank and Agnes Morrison of Pensacola, precede Paul in death.

He is survived by his parents, Robert James and Beverly Morrison of Pensacola; his sister, Suzanne Morrison Davis (Jimmy) of Monroeville, AL; an uncle, John Elvis Morgan (Elise) of Pensacola; nieces, Rachel Davis Cone (David) and Emilie Davis Oglesby (Joseph); cousins, the Rev. Nan Morgan Adams, Martha Beverly Morgan and Morgan Adams Tredo (Greg); and great nieces, Beverly Emmeline Cone and Eloise Nan Oglesby.

The family received guests Monday, March 18, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, followed by a 2 p.m. funeral service officiated by the Rev. Nan Adams. A graveside service was held at the Morgan Cemetery on Highway 29 in Pine Barren, FL. James Folsom Davis, David Wayne Cone and Joseph Edward Oglesby served as pallbearers.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Harish Malhotra at the Sacred Heart Oncology Unit and Dr. Rex DeLaune for their support and care.

I somehow missed hearing of Pauls passing almost 4 years ago. My husband Adrian Enfinger and I were walking through Morgan Cemetery today visiting various family graves and his first grade teachers grave, Mrs. Helen Morgan. I then saw the grave of Paul Morrison, birth year right, and after some research realized this was the same person I went to Scenic Heights Elementary with, Workman Jr. High (then I moved to Cantonment and graduated frim Tate in 1972) instead of Woodham. I then went on to PJC and saw Paul again as I was in Zeta Phi Delta when he was in Phi Sigma Tau. It truly is a small world and then to find out he was Mrs. Morgans grandson...wow! I paid my respects today and just decided to share this bit of history. My sympathy to his family.

To Paul's Family, I am very sorry to hear of your great loss. I knew Paul while attending Woodham High School and when he was in Phi Sig, I had the pleasure of attending a few activities with him as his date. Paul was a real gentlemen and he made me laugh and I trusted him so much, I let him cut my hair for years!!! Paul had a calm, quiet and gentle spirit, that is how I will always remember him. Woodham High has just lost 4 alumni in the past two months, they all knew each other and I am sure they are talking it up - in heaven. May God Bless Them All... Peace to Your Family.

I was so sorry to hear about Paul. He was my Workman Junior High sweetheart -- and he let me carry his trumpet case when we walked home from school! Sweet, huh? To Mr. and Mrs. Morrison and Suzanne, I am so sorry for your loss. Paul looks just like himself in that picture, even with mustache!

I lost track of Paul after High School, but use to catch the bus at the same bus stop and use to live right down the street from him and his parents, back in the day. To the Morrison Family I am truly sad to here the news....Ric Schroeder
