Ray Radford Obituary

1944 - 2009

Ray W. Radford, age 64 of Pensacola, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 surrounded by his family. He was a member of Poplar Dell Baptist Church.
Mr. Radford was a long time employee of Waters and Hibbert Funeral Home and a veteran having served in the Vietnam Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Martha Radford; brother, Robert "Bobby" Radford and a sister, Evelyn Ferguson.
Ray is survived by his loving wife for 43 years, Linda Radford; three daughters, Wanda, Cathy and Karen Radford; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Lisa Radford; three sisters, Myrtis Williams, Florence Cassini (Hank) and Alta Clark; two brothers, John D. Radford, Jr and Roy Radford; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
A Graveside Service will be at 10:15 a.m., Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Barrancas National Cemetery with Reverend Robert Gandy officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors.
FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME SOUTH, 100 Beverly Parkway, is in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Poplar Dell Baptist Church or Camp Blue Bird, 5151 North 9th Avenue, 32505.

Dear Linda and Kids, You have always been in our prayers, Ray was as much a cousin to me as you and Sherry. I will miss teasing him and being teased each time we saw each other. Remember we ALL LOVE YOU if you need anything just let me know (Sherry has my new ph.) we will be there. Told Gene, Ray meant a lot to him also, he and Coleman sends their love to you all. Linda, I am so sad for you and your family. Wow, the memories of growing up in a neighorhood with such friends as Ray along with Robert(Bobby), they were the greatest duo-Bobby pitching and Ray catching, it was great to be on their team! Big Brother,
I know we did not spend enough time together, but I will always cherish the memories of holidays at momma and daddy's and growing up together with our neighborhood friends. Thank you for the good times at Kara and Holley's ball games. You were always there for me and my kids. When I needed a Big Brother you were the best. You will always be in my heart.
