WILLIAM "BILL"
JEFFERSON HOWIE
1938-2007
Bill was born in Monroe NC but moved to Pensacola in 1974. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and after he retired became a Corrections Officer for Escambia County Jail. After years of service with the County Jail, Bill retired for the second time. Bill was a member of the St Anne's Catholic Church on Saufley Field Road.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Paul Howie and Mrs. Bessie Strawn Howie; and sister Sally (Joe) Underwood.
He is survived by his wife, E G Howie; daughters, Lisa (Chung) Rigby, Jean (Doug Wilson) Howie and Maria (Charles) Locke; stepdaughter, Lisa (Rick) Sprecher; grandchildren, Leah, Amy, Johnathan Rigby, Allie Bush, Rickie Lea Sullivan, Bobby Johnson, Josh Middleton and Papa's baby Abbey; brother, Paul (Pat) Howie Jr.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Saturday, November 3, 2007 at the Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, burial will follow in the Bayview Memorial Park Cemetery, with Father Pete presiding.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 pm Friday, November 2, 2007 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel.
BAYVIEW FISHER-POU CHAPEL is in charge of all arrangements.

He was loved by me and our three lovely daughters, Lisa, Jean, and Maria and he will be missed. We appreciate all of the support we recevied from his co workers and friends. Thank you for attending his viewing and funeral. My daughters and I have been blessed to witness such an outpouring of love and respect.

I have many wonderful memories of Uncle Sonny, even though it has been a few years since I've seen him. For some reason, my most vivid memory is when I was very young, and we were all taking a tour of the Lance plant where daddy used to work. I walked up beside Uncle Sonny and grabbed his hand, thinking it was daddy, and when I found out it wasn't daddy, I was happy anyway and walked around holding Uncle Sonny's hand. I will always remember his smile, and his kindness.
