Until We Meet Again

Dad, I may not have known you for very long but in the time I have you've
been so strong. You fought and fought and never gave up and kept telling us all
you would kick cancers butt. You were in it to win and we all jumped in with hope
and support through to the very end. The hope and support will always burn
strong along with every memory of you forever long. Mom will be in good hands
to lift her up and help her along. She will have many memories and stories to
share with all of the grandchildren and anyone who never had the chance to meet
the most amazing, kind, and wonderful man that I was privileged to. The
memories of the good times with you will always live on. We know you will
always be with us and never gone, waiting for us to join you again, high up in the
sky passed the clouds in the great beyond. Your hand will be extended to help us
all through to one day be reunited with you. But for now we will not mourn but
celebrate the man that was loved and adored by so many near and far. Dad you
will always be our shooting star streaking across the night sky showing us you're
still here and that you never said goodbye. Until we meet again Dad, forever
loved and forever in our hearts you will always stay. We love forever and always
Dad.

This is a message from a Dear Friend, Jeff Tilley dedacated to Bill Kerns (THE LOVE OF MY LIFE)

Esther, I wrote this the day after I witnessed Bill sign his hospice papers at the hospital. I was thinking when I wrote it that it was such a rare honor to be present when another man signed away his right to fight a battle that he knew he was ultimately going to lose. It was such a moving moment to me. I'll sing it for you some day. I've played and sang it for my best musical friends over here. They all liked it.

Bill Kerns went home for good today
Bill Kerns went home for good today
Some say he won't be back
He's gone for good, they say
Bill Kerns went home for good today

He fought the good war bravely
He kept his foe at bay
Bill Kerns went home for good today

Bill Kerns went home for good today
Bill Kerns went home for good today
He's going to a better land
He's going there to stay
Bill Kerns went home for good today

I was there and I watched him
As he signed his right to fight away
Bill Kerns went home for good today

Bill Kerns went home for good today
Bill Kerns went home for good today
Some say he won't be back
He's gone for good they say
Bill Kerns went home for good today

In the end he had made peace
With all who had come his way
Bill Kerns went home for good today
