HERTFORD - Mollie Frances Wheeler Bunch Belch, 89, of Hertford, NC, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025, in Chowan River Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Edenton.
Mrs. Belch was born in Perquimans County on April 4, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Alexander Paul and Elizabeth Miller Wheeler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Waverly Belch, the father of her children Oscar Bunch, Jr., her son, Noah Bunch; an infant sister, Alice Faye Wheeler, brothers, Richard, James, Alec Paul, and Paul Ray Wheeler; grandchildren, Chelsea and Noah, Jr.; and a great-grandson, Winslow.
Retired as an assisting supervisor from the former Don Juan Manufacturing Company, she was a member of Hertford Baptist Church, the Perquimans County Center for Active Living, and especially loved to read and going to the library.
Surviving are her two daughters, Janet and Faye Bunch, both of Hertford; two sons, Paul Bunch (Gina) of Raleigh and James Bunch (Ella) of Hertford; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Funeral services were held Friday at 3:00 p.m. in Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, and were conducted by the Rev. Howard Sutton. Burial followed in Cedarwood Cemetery.
The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the staff of Chowan River Nursing for the excellent care provided to Mrs. Belch during her time of need.
