TELL CITY – David Weatherholt, 57, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Perry County Nov. 17, 1957, son of Charles and Maytha (Roach) Weatherholt.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Radie and Gertrude Roach and Alva and Betsy Jane Weatherholt.
A 1976 graduate of Perry Central High School, David was united in marriage Aug. 6, 1977, to Debra Roberts, who survives him.
He retired from Boilermaker's Union Local 374 after 36 years of service, where he also had served as a business representative.
David was a reserve officer for the Tell City Police Department for 10 years and was past president of Perry County Shrine Club, a member of Branchville Masonic Lodge 496 F&AM, Order of Eastern Star 292 and First Baptist Church.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, riding motorcycles and playing golf.
David is survived by his wife of 37 years, Debra Weatherholt; his daughters, Amber Greulich (Brian) and Tessa DeVoy (Mike); his parents, Charlie and Maytha Weatherholt; his sisters, Shirley Gayer (Dan) and Tonya Hagerdon (Darwin); his grandchildren, Drew and Brilynn Greulich and Ellery and Will DeVoy and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 18, at First Baptist Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. The Revs. Dan Hopkins and Al Madden will officiate.
Visitation is planned from 2 until 7 p.m. Sunday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday, at the church. There will be a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Sunday.
