David LANDAU Obituary

LANDAU, David April 9, 1949 - July 13, 2015 The family and friends Dave leaves behind can count themselves lucky to have known him. The sound of his contagious laugh will be forever etched in their memory. Dave would be the first to admit he was a lucky man. He enjoyed his upbringing as a "valley boy" in Encino, with his parents Sid and Annette, and sister Joyce. After a short stint in the Army, he studied occupational therapy at San Jose State where he met his future wife Laurie McNinch (also an OT student). Dave has not left her side for over forty years. His career suited his creative nature and he enjoyed a variety of avocations such as ceramics (MA San Jose) gardening, muscle cars, home projects, and collecting. Laurie and Dave's luck continued with a move to Petaluma thirty years ago to raise their children Zachary and Shannon. But luck had very little to do with Dave's success. He worked hard to get what he deserved: loving relationships, meaningful work, and the good will of all those who knew him.

We were so sad to hear of Dave's passing.
He has such a sweet and gentle spirit.
I used to love when he would drop by, knowing that I usually had something sweet, baking in my kitchen.
He was a special person.
Prayers to Laurie, and the kids.
Love you,
Ger and Kelly

I was so sorry to hear of Dave's death. I used to work with him at Santa Rosa Memorial OBHS. He was the greatest person and an outstanding OT who was wonderful with patients. We used to share LA stories since we were both from there. To his family my deepest condolences.

Dear Laurie, Zach and Shannon,
It's been more than twenty years since our get-togethers when the kids were so young. I was so sad to hear about Dave's passing when Patrick called last week. He was a super guy with a great family, and I am truly sorry for your loss.

Dear Laurie,
Eric & I send our loving condolences to you and your family. We were so sorry to hear of David's passing. While we met both of you ever so briefly (with Annette and Mendie) the warmth & kindness from both of you was evident. Mendie spoke very highly of David. May he rest in peace and may your shared love bring you strength and solace. Our deepest sympathy.
