Diane Linda Allen, 72, of Petaluma, California left us peacefully on November 20th surrounded by her family and loving caregiver. A beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Diane will always be remembered for her sparkling smile, infectious laugh and the best hugs ever.

Born June 24th,1952 in Flushing, NY, Diane was one of three children to Eugene and Norma Bayne and sister to Joyce Van Buren and Steven Bayne. They lived on Long Island, NY. She attended Harlem Valley State Hospital's nursing program where she received a three year RN degree in 1974.

On July 10th, 1976, Diane married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Allen after meeting in the hospital in which they both worked. They had two daughters. The family moved to Southern California in 1980 than settled in Petaluma in 1985 where Diane worked at Petaluma Valley Hospital then in her husband's Oral Surgery practice. She eventually retired to become a wife and mother. She and her husband shared a loving relationship for nearly 50 years. They traveled to many places around the world.

She loved attending her children's and her grandchildren's sporting events. She loved gardening, scuba diving, kayaking, and snorkeling, especially in Hawaii. Her friends meant the world to her.

Diane is survived by her husband, Dr. Robert Allen, daughters; Sarah Workman and Emily Stewart as well as her grandchildren Taylor, Connor and Grady Workman.

A celebration of life will be held at the Petaluma Golf and Country Club on Saturday January 18th from 1-4 p.m. All are welcome to come celebrate the life of this wonderful woman. In lieuof flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Petaluma and MissionMSA.
