CHAVEZ, Lisa It is with great sadness that we mourn the sudden loss of Lisa Jean Chavez, who passed on January 26, 2018 surrounded by her loving family who never left her side. She leaves behind her parents Bob and Francine Hatfield and Bill and Lorraine Smyser. Her sister Tina Botai (Keith), half-sisters Stephanie Jernigan (Jeff) and Lauren Sanchez. Her nephew Brennen Maldonado, niece Shelby Azevedo, great-nephew Nikko Maldonado, loving partner Pete Bursio and hundreds of friends that adored her. Lisa will always be remembered for her smile and laughter that could light up a room. She was a lifelong resident of Petaluma and a graduate of Casa Grande High School. Lisa was a beautiful spirit. She was giving, kind and always willing to help others. This passion for helping others led her to a career in care giving. If Lisa was not caring for others she was rescuing and rehoming animals. God must need her to take care of another furry friend. At this time there will be no funeral service. A memorial donation may be made to the Marin County Humane Society at 171 Bel Marin Keys Blvd, Novato CA 94949 in Lisa's memory. Her family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the support and consideration to all of those who knew and loved her. We would also like to thank the many doctors and nurses at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, for their compassion and wonderful care given to Lisa and her family during this difficult time.
