Pearl Petersen
March 9, 1936 - March 6, 2023
Beloved Pearl passed away peacefully at age 86 on March 6, 2023, in Petaluma, CA. She was born March 9, 1936, in Eureka, SD to Alvina Kundert/Opp/Dale and Milbert Opp. Her family moved to California and settled in San Francisco in 1944. She was the sister of Rodger Opp, Thomas Opp and Melodee Dale/Fahy. She graduated from George Washington High School in 1954 and married her high school sweetheart, Edward Petersen, in 1955. The family moved to Petaluma in 1966 where she raised her family.
Pearl had four children Ronald, David, Nancy and Janette. She had twelve grandchildren Page, Autumn, Anna, Ashley, Joshua, Amanda, Nicholas, Ryan, Riley, Nicole, Sydney and Spencer. She had seven great-grandchildren Bree, Tristan, Bella, Chloe, Braxton, Mason, and Kai.
Pearl was active in the Petaluma community, Elim Lutheran Church, Boy Scouts, Bluebirds, school fundraising events, The Carousel Foundation and many others.
She studied accounting and graduated from SRJC in 1975. She worked for KTOB radio station, Washington Square Merchants Association, Paul Zell Designs (1975), Big 4 Rents (1979), and retired in 2010 from Pisenti & Brinker accounting firm (formally Smith/Mormon/Dato/MacKenzie).
Pearl loved her family and friends. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, knitting, square dancing, bowling and traveling with family and friends.
She was a wonderful hostess for social events, parties and holidays. She took care of people in need without reservation.
We love and miss you. You will be forever in our hearts.
A Memorial will be held by Family and Friends at Cypress Hill Memorial Park in Petaluma on March 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with a Celebration of life to follow at her house in Petaluma.
