VIVIAN CHRISTINE WINKLER

WINKLER, VIVIAN CHRISTINE - of Sneedville, Tn. went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014 at UT Hospital. She was born in Hancock County on June 19, 1926. She was a member of War Creek Baptist Church. Vivian attended Eastern Kentucky University before becoming a school teacher. She also worked on the family farm with her husband. In recent years she enjoyed using her sewing, knitting and crafting talents to benefit Children's Hospital patients and cancer patients at UT Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elliott Winkler; parents, Martha & Grady Turner; sisters, Thelma Forkner & Geraldine Southern and brother, L.H. Turner Survivors include; daughters, Susan Winkler of Knoxville, Tn. and Gail Winkler of Russellville, Tn; brother, Frank B. Turner of Rose Hill, Va; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Mills & Lucille Brewer, both of Sneedville Several nieces and nephews; many dear neighbors and friends Special Grand-Cat; Blackie. The family wishes to express grateful appreciation to Dr. John Short, Amedisys Home Health and UT Hospital physicians and staff. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 P.M. on Friday, October 31, 2014 at War Creek Baptist Church, 5430 Hey. 31, Sneedville, Tn. 37869 Rev. Danny Georges & Rev. Josh Pettiecord officiating Family and friends will meet at War Creek Baptist Church at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 1, 2014 for a procession to the Winkler Family Cemetery for a 10:oo A.M. burial service. Serving as pallbearers will be Andy Holt, Jerry Holt, Allison Johnson, Samuel Johnson, Dr. John Short & Jerry Southern. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, October 31, 2014 at War Creek Baptist Church.
