Kate and I treasured our chance meetings with Dave over the years. We loved Joyce, too, and fondly remember many conversations about family and Clemson life in general. Dave was always a big fan of Kate's cartoons in the newspaper, and we both appreciated his support and friendship. I'll miss seeing Dave and his humor and an always smile and good word.

I first met Dave at Central Recreation Center in 2011. Then became better acquainted Thursday mornings at Bo Jangles in Clemson. I considered Dave one of the VIP's of Clemson since I moved here from Ohio, and always enjoyed our conversations. My sincerest condolences to his family & will keep you in my thoughts & prayers in the time ahead!

Dave was always a HUGE Clemson supporter and often came to the SC State to 'encourage' us, as members, to continue to keep Clemson in our 'budget considerations'. Safe journey, Dave!

We didn't meet Dave until he was 71 but he was a memorable personality with a great sense of humor. We remember his affinity for adjusting street signs, his driving gloves, Audi, BMW, monkey grass, singing birthday greetings in German, and Clemson University - not necessarily in that order :-) Our sincerest condolences go out to Joyce and family at this very sad and difficult time.
