EASLEY — Viola "Punky" Nix Duncan, 79, wife of Wayne B. Duncan, of Easley, passed away Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020.
Born in Easley, she was a daughter of the late Clifton Nix and the late Ida MaeBell Gibson Nix Murphy.
Punky loved to camp and travel. She retired from Pickens County Schools as bus driver and was a member of Enon Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband of 26 years, Punky is survived by a son, Alvin T. Rhodes (Robin) of Easley; a daughter, Teresa Lynn Gilstrap (James) of Liberty; three stepsons, Wayne Chastain (Linda) of Liberty, and Benjamin and Jason Duncan, both of Easley; six stepdaughters, Sarah Aiken of Easley, Juanita Aiken (Tony) of Pickens, Glenda Brissey of Easley, Diane Cantrell of Easley, Christina Bucio of Great Falls, Mont., and Annette Duncan of Great Falls, Mont.; three sisters, Judy Brissey of Easley, Brenda Lollis (Bobby) of Pickens, and Diane Kay of Easley; a brother-in-law, Donnie Duncan; five grandchildren, Zachary Rhodes (Brittany), Ashley Rhodes, Levi Gilstrap, Jessica Gilstrap (Michael Burry), and Colton Duncan; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two previous husbands, Alvin Rhodes and Otis Chastain; a son, Alvin Dale Rhodes; and a sister, Hazel Duncan.
Funeral services were Jan. 5, 2021 at the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home, Downtown, with burial following in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

She was one of my residents at Easley place in the skilled unit I worked with her for a while before she got really sick I also worked with her husband down at Park and west I loved miss Duncan she never met a stranger
