Adam Rapoport Obituary

Adam Ross Rapoport

Virginia Beach - Adam Ross Rapoport departed this life on Thursday, January 25, 2018. Adam was born in Norfolk, VA, on March 31, 1987 and graduated from Western Branch High School and Roanoke College, Class of 2009. He then attended graduate school at The New England School of Acupuncture, Wilderness Survival Skills School in Montana, several culinary institutions, and was an accomplished sommelier and chef in New York City.

Adam had an insatiable taste for adventure, and he inspired everyone who crossed his path. He loved the culinary arts, spirituality, reading, nature, and expressing himself through his artwork. He traveled the world and published a part of his journey in his memoir, "Memory of a Vagabond."

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Reid and Rebecca Rapoport; sister Lindsay Rapoport and fiancé Anthony Elterman; Uncle Steven and Aunt Troy Rapoport; cousins Samuel and Julia Rapoport; partner Nicole Porter; and a host of loving extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, Adam would love for you to remember him by donating to one of the following charities: The Nature Conservancy, Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore, or The ASPCA. A private memorial service was held sea bound on February 3, 2018. Condolences may be registered at BWFosterFuneralHome.com.

"The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long." Adam, we love you more than you know.

Adam. I thought you’d gone off the grid and would reappear some day with new stories of the adventures you had. I was waiting for your sequel that you were always working on.
To his family, I’m so sorry for your loss. He was such an incredible person. He was a true example of leading a life that meant something and he believed in.

I taught Adam at WBHS. He was a very mature young man, even as a sophomore. He was one of those students that stood out in a good way, very polite and friendly. You are in my prayers.

I taught Adam at WBHS, and he was a real delight. He was always upbeat. He already was a multifaceted young man as he taught our class about handwriting analysis and had entertaining strategies for teaching the class about SAT vocabulary. I have lots of good memories. I'm glad our paths crossed.
