Alex was a very good property manager he went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. I wish we could be there but circumstances won't allow it. To the family we send our prayers and our thoughts. The Lord created a awesome man and someone who thought of others. Rest in peace and goodbye is never forever we will see you again

Our deepest condolences to the Gusev family. I had a chance meeting with Alex in front of building 2 at the municipal center, two days before the tragic event unfolded. While taking photos of my mom alongside the historic old building, Alex approached us and cheerfully offered to take our picture together. In that brief encounter, we were immediately captivated by his exuberance, sense of humor, and goodwill. His compassion and kindness towards others(especially strangers like mom and I) is his gift and light to the world that will be passed on from all those whose lives he has touched. Thank you again Alex, and may you Rest In Peace.

To the family, I heard the tragic news and along with all of you my heart is just torn to pieces. I want to express how deeply sorry I am of your unexpected loss. I worked in the law dept and I had the pleasure of working with Alex until I moved. I would stop by and visit everyone in the Public Works dept. when I came to VA. He will be greatly missed by all of us who knew him. I loss my daughter in an unexpected way and I know how difficult it was for me. May the memories you had with him give all of you comfort as it did for me. You are in my thoughts and prayers every day.

To the Family: Life is like a mist. Its here today and gone tomorrow. But memories left behind of the good times are something you can continue to cherish. So continue to stay close and give comfort to one another, along with heartfelt prayers, and loving support from friends to give you enough room in your hearts to cope with your loss. (Psalms 119:32)

I had a class with Alex many years ago. I don't remember everyone that I have had a class with over the years but there was something extra special about Alex. I've often thought about him. He sat next to me the first day and introduced himself, his quiet smile was infectious. He was focused, he had goals. He made me laugh, he was kind and someone anyone would enjoy being around.
Alex, although I knew you briefly, for only a semester, you definitely made a positive impression on my life. Rest In Peace. My deepest condolences to his family.
