Arthur Putman Obituary
He is preceded in death by his father Arthur Putman Sr, his mother Elmira Putman, brother Steven Putman and wife Judy Putman.
A. L.'s memory will be cherished by his husband of 22 years, Matt Trahan, his in-laws Ernest and Irene Trahan, his sisters in law Leslie Dovale, Kathy Bouchard and husband John Bouchard, nieces Kayla Chartier, Mallory Dovale and Caitlin Benway.
A. L. was born and raised in Live Oak, Florida. Living part of his life in Panama City, Florida, New York City, and finally settling in Norfolk, Virginia in the 1970's.
After serving in the Navy, he worked as a shipping agent for Hinkins, Lykes Line and Inchcape Shipping.
He was known as a friend to all. He always had a helping hand or word of advice. His smile, laughter and passion for life will be remembered by the many friends and family whose hearts he lives on in.
Celebration of Life Services will be held February 17th, at 3pm, at the Hollomon-Brown, Kempsville Chapel at 1485 Kempsville Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23464. It would have been his 80th birthday.

Dear Matt and family, words fail me. Not an easy thing to make happen but something A.L. seemed adept at. I'm sure he is smiling knowing that he hadn't lost his touch at staying a step ahead.
Your love for each other and those around you was obvious to anyone fortunate enough to be considered a friend. I'm glad I had the chance to be included among them. Those memories will be cherished until we meet again.
Though I have to admit the thought of A.L. manning the pearly gates does give one pause!
Peace and love to you and the rest of the family my friend.
