I don't live in the area anymore but I had so much fun at Q-Masters. Barry was a big reason why. A man of standing, grace, and honor. And just an all around great guy who remains well remembered.

Always looked forward to being in Barry´s company. He had a way of making people fell good just with a few words. No matter what, he had a knack for making things special. His tournaments either at the Q Master, or The US Open, myself, I could not wait to get there. Always the best. That´s because Barry made sure it was the best. Certainly a wonderful talent Barry had. Barry is my friend and about 6 years after his passing, I still think about him as a friend and everything he had done for our great sport. I will close saying , eventually I will catch up with you Barry, but until then you are always in my thoughts. U Da Man Barry. Fla. Bob PS pic with me and a couple more of your good friends.

I, just today (10/20), found out about Barry's passing. How I missed this I do not know. I spent many an hour shooting pool at Q-Masters Norfolk from the mid-80's through the mid-90's. Barry and one of the employee's taught me how to shoot, sold me my first cue, and always "overlooked" the alotted rental time on tables. He made everyone feel like family. Condolences to his family and friends who are left with his memory.

When Barry was in the house, everything was first class all the way. He was Mr. Pool and created the the U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship, which was a magnificent event for players and railbirds alike. To win the U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship title is the dream of every single pool player around the world, bar none. On the weekend of the Open, long-stem roses were given to all the lady attendees. Barry's attention to detail was appreciated by many at this prestigious event. Our hearts go out to Brady, Shannon, and their family. We loved Barry with all our heart. He will be missed in our lives, but his spirit will live on forever. Rest in peace, Barry. You were, and still are, loved by many.

Barry was a "mess" and I say that in the most complimentary way! Barry always loved telling everyone how he introduced me to my now x-husband. In all honesty, each time I mentioned to him something that might improve the pool room, he took note of it and almost always implemented my idea. He always had a smile for me and had time for a quick chat as he moved around the pool room. It is with certainty that he will be hugely missed. I will miss him. Thanks for the good times at Q-Master's! God bless the family during this difficult time.

Barry and I were roommates at Frederick Military Academy in Portsmouth, Va. in the early 1960's. He was an easy going and nice person. Barry had a lot of good qualities but the one that stands out is - He was a people person... he just liked people. I never met anyone who didn't like him. The sport of pool is where it is today because of his love for the game and its players. He will be missed.
