Suffolk - Carrie Nunn Hardy Hensley, 87, passed away Friday in her home surrounded by her loving family. She is predeceased in death by her parents Myrtle and James Hardy; daughter Ann Fox; sister Iris Antwine; and a brother Allen Hardy. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years Carrington R. Hensley; 3 daughters, Beverly Kratchen (Dale), Scottie Kratchen (Kay), Angela Ferdon (Mike); son Frank Jones, III (Leona); 21 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 4 great- great-grandchildren; sisters Mary Emma Guay (Roger) and Rachel Stafford (Fred).
Carrie retired from C&P Telephone Co. after 30 years and was a Realtor for 25 years, most recently with Prudential Towne Realty. She was a stalwart member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved volunteering in the Family History Center. Her family was very important and spending time with her sisters and working in her garden were among her favorite pastimes. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and always made everyone feel they were her favorite.
A funeral service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Bennett's Pasture Rd. in Suffolk at 1 p.m. on Monday. A visitation will be held in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel from 6:30 - 8 p.m. Sunday evening. Online condolences can be made at www.lovingfuneralhome.com.
