Charles Brown Obituary

Charles H. Brown, Jr.

Chesapeake - Charles Hubert Brown, Jr., 73, longtime resident of Chesapeake, VA, and more recently of 4466 Gilbert's Beach Road, Tyner, NC, died Thursday, July 28, 2016.

Mr. Brown was born in Portsmouth, VA on February 16, 1943, and was the son of the late Charles Hubert, Sr. and Charlotte Green Brown. A financial estate planner in the Chesapeake area for many years, he later became part owner with Hatteras Harbor Marina located on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. A veteran, he had served in the Army during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Brown.

Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Glenda Webb Brown; god-daughter, Crystal Kulp Anderson and her children, Aiden and Kaelyn; a god-son, Jeffrey Allen Kulp and his daughters, Lillianna and Isabella, all of Norfolk, VA; and a niece, Kathryn Brown of Virginia Beach, VA.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. in Ballard's Bridge Baptist Church and will be officiated by The Rev. Ron Parr. Friends may join the family at the residence. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, NC, is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ballard's Bridge Baptist Church, 3025 Virginia Road, Tyner, NC 27980.
