I am very sorry to hear that Charlie passed away. He and I played together in Sunny Days Review back in the mid 70's. Charlie was a fabulous Sax player and his rendition of Misty was the best I have ever heard. He was also a great comedian and I will never forget how he performed "The Monster Mash".

God bless Charlie and may he rest in peace.

Charlie was my friend. I played music with him in a couple of different bands. When he went to California, we lost touch. Charlie was an extremely talented person with a gentle soul and a heart of gold. After gigs we would sit around and talk for hours. He had such a great way of making you feel good about yourself and encouraging you when he thought you needed it. I am very sad to hear of his passing. God bless.

I am very saddend to hear of Charlie's loss. We lost touch unfortunately over the years. I remember him briefly as his step-daughter and also remember his music. I also remember how happy he was playing the saxaphone and how happy I was to hear him play as well. My most vivid memory of him was him chasing me and my sister around the house and tickling us on the couch--we would scream our heads off! I always thought of him and carried a special place for him in my heart. My thought and prayers are with his family. Nicole Clouse Hall, Virginia Beach

Charley was a Norview H.S. Alto Sax man, joining the Nocturnes dance band, he was later to go on the road and on returning to Norfolk, we could hear that he had bloomed and surpassed us. I'm sad that Cheeks(Linwood's nickname for C) has gone ahead again but he had become a leader; he was a pleasant person; our loss.
