Charles Robinson Obituary
Elizabeth City - Charles Hall Robinson died peacefully in his home at 1830 Rivershore Road in Elizabeth City, NC on July 2 at the age of 98. Mr. Robinson was born in Morehead City, NC on July 24, 1919 to the late Charles Oakley Robinson and Ivy Blades Robinson. He was a graduate of Woodberry Forest School and Princeton University and served in the US Army in France and Belgium during World War ll. He was a lifelong resident of Elizabeth City and is the former President of Elizabeth City Hosiery Mills and Chairman of Robinson Manufacturing Company. He served on the Board of First Union Bank in Charlotte, NC for many years, was a Paul Harris Fellow and member of Rotary International and a member of Christ Episcopal Church.
Mr. Robinson was married to Margaret (Peggy) Birch Robinson who preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Birch Robinson of Atlanta, GA: his son, Dr. Charles Hall Robinson, Jr and wife, Nancy, of Raleigh, NC: and two grandchildren, Patricia Michele Robinson of Carrboro, NC and Dr. Charles Andrew Robinson and his wife, Amanda of Durham, NC.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 11:00 am in Christ Episcopal Church by The Rev. Chip Broadfoot. The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 200 S. McMorrine Steet, Elizabeth City, NC 27909. Twiford Funeral Home, 405 E.
