Christopher Patrick Keenan abruptly passed away on November 26, 2020. Born October 17, 1957, at Tripler Army Medical Center in Oahu, Hawaii, he grew up in Spencerport, New York. Chris graduated from St. Bonaventure University in Olean, New York, before embarking on a career in corrugated packaging in Chesapeake, Virginia, where he lived with his loving wife, Suzi Keenan. Chris was a voracious lover of music, great fellowship, fine food, and having a great time! He was a fun-loving man who lived life to the fullest. He adored his family, was deeply loved by all, and had many true friendships that lasted his entire life.

Chris was preceded in death by his precious grandmother Mildred Keenan, his loving Father Shelden John, Stepmother Nancy Louise, and his cherished Uncle John Patrick. He is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne Keenan, nee Hoffleit, his Mother, Marion Joan Keenan, nee Ek, his Brother Shaun Michael (Yinibeth), nephews Connor and Antonio, and niece Mary, his Sister Maura Katherine (Bob), nephews Daniel and Liam, and niece Colleen, his Aunt Jacqueline, and numerous cousins.

A gathering of friends and celebration of life will take place following the COVID-19 pandemic. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Chris' memory to the Chris P. Keenan '79 and Bona Bakers Memorial Endowed Scholarship.

Gosh Suzi, still so hard to accept. Chris was one of the kindest and most generous men I have ever met! You both shared quite a special love and bond! He will be missed by many. May your wonderful memories and the love of God give you the strength to carry on.

Oh, CPK...what to say about a loyal, loving, intelligent, generous, fun-loving kindred spirit? Just that, my friend. You were one in a million and will be forever missed in this crazy world. Our shared love of the Outlaws and all things music that spoke to us, will be dear to me always. I have a couple dozen pictures, hundreds of memories and a thousand smiles in my future when thinking about the good times and conversations spent with my "brother". Green grass and high tides forever for you now, and no one deserves it more.

Your picture of Chris says so much about him. That mischievous smile that was so contagious
I met Chris within the first couple weeks of our freshman year at St Bonaventure and we roomed together the following two years. Have been the best of friends ever since. Here he is from about 1994 showing my sin Max a view of the world from new heights!
I love and miss you big buddy!!!

My brother Michael counted Chris Keenan as one of his very best friends. Chris was a prince of a guy, always kind, loyal to a fault and always willing to help anyone who needed him. He stood by my brother throughout his illness, always supporting him and lifting his spirits. I will remember it always.

I have no doubt my brother welcomed him as he arrived at the Eternal, and I am comforted that they are together again, most likely in cahoots planning some uproarious celebration extraordinaire. I can see the two of them, as they did so often together here, laughing at life's foibles.

My condolences to his family and friends with thoughts and prayers for strength and peace. I know how terribly he will be missed.

A fine young gentleman when I hung out with Chris back in the 80s. Fond memories, sorry we hadn’t kept up with each other over time. RIP Chris and my condolences to his family.
