Cordelia Lorraine Paul

Virginia Beach - Cordelia Lorraine Paul, 87, a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on August 22, 2014.

A lover of gardening, travel, current events and Italian cooking, Mrs. Paul was born in Henderson, North Carolina and resided in Virginia Beach since 1962. She was preceded in death by her husband Louis E. Paul, Sr. She retired as a nurse anesthetist from Sentara Leigh Hospital after more than forty years of service.

Survivors include her children Gayle Coleman and husband Dan of CA, Louis E. Paul Jr., of Virginia Beach, Stefonia Alfonsi and husband Anthony of Chesapeake, and Heidi Paul-Gonzales and husband Christopher of Virginia Beach/Richmond; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, August 25, 2014 from 6 to 8p.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Skills Quest Services (for special needs individuals) 400 Investors Place, Virginia Beach, VA 23452. Friends may offer condolences at www.kellumfuneralhome.com

Although I did not know Lorraine personally, I had spoken to her several times when I was on Session at Church and we always had such a lovely chat. The pictures are wonderful! Dear Lorraine's Family,
I had the wonderful pleasure of knowing your parents in the 1980/1990's and listening to the stories of how proud they were of their children. They were also amazing advocates of Louis and the ones that supported him over the years. To Lorraine's Family: Thank you for posting the pictures of your Mom, Dad and family through the years, many bringing back sweet memories of our 'King's Grant Days' as neighbors. She was a beautiful, talented lady and good friend. We had some wonderful times together. Lorraine was so proud of all of you and loved you very much.
