To the Laconte Family and the SEAL Community, I am so very sorry for your loss and my prayers and thoughts are with you. I had the pleasure of working/living with Dave in Afghanistan on his current project. I said my final goodbye to Dave on the 9th of November, when he left and heading out of Bagram to see the unit he would be working with...He was a great guy, and this has hit me hard!! Dave and I would often give each other a hard time as I am a US Army Ranger and he is a SEAL,(fin as I called him). We smoked cigars and chatted the time away ofter at night. God Bless you and your family, and the world is at a complete loss with this tragic event; This is for all those to read and understand;

I worked with Dave at BUD/S back in the late 70's, Dave was always a good friend and team mate and had a great desire to prove himself as a warrior. I think he's accomplished his task and died doing what he loved and he is and always will be, a warrior's warrior.
