David Womack Obituary

David Price Womack

Suffolk - David Price Womack passed away on December 13, 2015 after a brief illness. He was born in Suffolk, VA to the late Frank and Dorothy Womack. He lived in Clearwater, FL. and Athens, GA before the finally making his home in Clayton, NC.

David leaves behind his wife, Rhonda Jackson Womack of Clayton, NC, a sister Susan Womack Powell, brother-in-law's Lynn Powell and John Jackson. A niece Meredith Powell, and nephew, Griffin Powell (Brooke), and great nephew Hatcher Powell.

David worked for the USPS for 25 years before retiring in 2012. He loved his 3 dogs, Junior, Blackie and Penny, the ocean, surf fishing and his boat, "the Dottie O II". He was an avid swimmer and collegiate diver for the University of Georgia.

He was loved by many and will be missed very much.

A celebration will held in the spring, after which he will be scattered at sea.

So very sorry to hear of David's passing. He was on the diving team at Clearwater High School when I was on the swim team. He was a wonderful guy and those of us that remember him from that time are shocked and terribly sadden to hear of his passing. My heartfelt condolences.

David "Smack" Womack was such a bright light and fun guy to be around in high school & I can only imagine the light and joy he was in his family' life. I am so very sorry for your loss :-(

I was so sorry to read about David. My late husband, Walt, worked with you dad in Clearwater and we were neighbors also. I remember David and his swimming! You are in my thoughts and prayers.
