I have know Dorsey through the Grace Bible Class, and have been blessed to have called him my brother in Christ. He always had an encouraging word from the Lord to share and a tender heart for those who were lost. Dorsey was a genuine believer, who had no pretence; with Dorsey you saw his heart and his love for everyone around him. We were especially blessed when my husband John had serious spinal surgery, and he came by to encourage us after the surgery, and even cut our grass when John was recouperating. I will always remember his willingness to share what the Lord was doing in his life and in the lives of those who crossed his path. He loved his family greatly, and always had their best interests above his own. Because we both know Jesus, I know that we will be reunited in glory with the Lord one day. I look forward to that day.

Dorsey,
Diana and I will always remember your love for Jesus Christ and others, and the sacrifices you made to help others financially and sharing with them the Gospel of Jesus Christ, even when it meant your not having the things you needed. We remember how you helped John while he was recovering from spinal surgey. We love you with all of our hearts. Your Brother & Sister in Christ, John & Diana Burton

Dorsey was one of my best friends, and one of the finest Christians I have known, and who loved the Lord with an intensity seldom seem in today's churches. He had a heavy burden on his heart for lost souls and was a prayer warrier and dedicated witness for the Lord Jesus Christ. His desire was to see the Christian church become more effective in its outreach. Dorsey lived his faith every day as a witness for Christ. His Christian brothers and sisters, especially those in the Grace Bible Class, of First Baptist Church Norfolk, will miss him dearly, but we rejoice to know that he is now with his Lord Jesus whom he so loved and served!! I look forward to seeing you in the years to come, when it's time for Christ Jesus to call me home. Your Brother in Christ, John W. Burton
