Edward Wainscott Obituary

Edward D. Wainscott VIRGINIA BEACH - Edward D. Wainscott, 61, passed away Aug. 11, 2010. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sandra Wainscott; daughter, Adrienne Wainscott; son, Matthew Wainscott, all of Virginia Beach; sisters, Joyce West, Sheila Seaton, Sherri Strunk, and Lisa Arnold, all of Kentucky; sister-in-laws, Debi and husband Dale Martin of Florida, Diane and husband David Frazier of Virginia Beach; brother-in-law, Gary Carpenter of North Carolina; mother-in-law, Irmgard Carpenter of Virginia Beach; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Elizabeth Wainscott and brother, Jerry. Mr. Wainscott was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy SEALS, when he was tragically injured in a training accident many years ago. He was a former Marine and a Vietnam veteran and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. The family would like to thank Beacon Shores, River Pointe Rehabilitation, and Odyssey Hospice Care. A private family service and internment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date. Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Veterans with Brain Injuries Inc., 4960 Highway 90, Box 173, Pace, FL 32571. Condolences may be expressed at www.altmeyer.com.
