Virginia Beach - Ellen Drury Whitehurst, 58, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, died in her sleep on Sunday, October 30, 2016, from heart failure.

Ellen was born February 10, 1958, in East Orange, NJ to Bob and Sylvia Drury. She is survived by her son, Grayson Madison Whitehurst; her two brothers, Robert and David; and a world of friends and admirers whom she helped to harness the energy of the universe. Ellen was a resident of Virginia Beach for sixteen years.

Ellen graduated from Fairfield University and had a long, successful career on Wall Street before becoming a renowned author, teacher, and healer specializing in holistic lifestyles.

Above all else, Ellen was a loving, caring, selfless, and a determined mother devoted to her son Grayson who in turn wanted nothing more but to make her proud. Ellen was a pillar of her community whose outreach to the needy served as a role model to countless individuals who looked to her for wisdom, guidance, and leadership.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016, 2:00 PM, at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., 2002 Laskin Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia, 23454.

I have kept all of your guest appearance podcasts on CoasttoCoast radio show with George Noory. I listen to them often, and shall continue to keep them, forever. It left a hole in my heart, when I learned that you had passed away. It is only now that I discovered through the continuing grace of your Facebook, that your Obituary was still available online. So I'm lighting a candle for you, Ellen. You were such a "light" in my life, though your radio talk show appearances and through your Facebook. What a beautiful soul you are.
