Emma Harper Obituary

Emma Lee Harper passed away January 11, 2024, at the age of 93. Emma was born in South Norfolk to the late Russell and Ruth Bagley Rock. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 74 years, Raymond Lee Harper. Emma was a faithful member of Chesapeake Avenue United Methodist Church, Woman's Club of South Norfolk and Newborns In Need. She was a graduate of South Norfolk High School and retired as a Medical Assistant after 32 years.

She is survived by her daughters, Shari L. Harper and Karen L. Harper; grandchildren, Colby, Collin and Alexa Rudis (Cory Jones); her precious great-granddaughter, Paisley Raye Jones, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and admin of Legacy Hospice.

On Thursday, January 18, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. you are invited to join the family at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake for a time of sharing followed by visiting with family and friends. She will be laid to rest at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. Please visit www.grahamfuneralhome.com to view the time of sharing and to leave a condolence to the family.

I just found out about Mrs. Harper. She was such a sweet lady. She was so kind to me. When I served on the museum, she and Mr. Harper were wonderful people. True pillars of the community! Sending prayers to her family and friends.
