Eva Baker Obituary

Eva Dunn Baker
Suffolk - Eva Dunn Morgan Baker, 94, died May 28, 2013. She was born September 11, 1918 at Holy Neck in Suffolk, VA. She was the daughter of the late William Clifford Morgan, Sr. and Marion Dunn Morgan.
She was predeceased by her husband John William Baker, Sr. and her only child Dr. John William Baker, Jr, and her grandson, John William Baker, III; two brothers Williams Clifford Morgan, Jr. and George F. Morgan and one sister Marion Morgan Kirkpatrick.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Ann Parks Baker Ruble and husband Charles of New York; Dr. Elizabeth Baker Golpira and husband Pierre of Norfolk; five great grandchildren, Lily, Charlotte and Ann Gray Golpira and Lane and Charles Baker Ruble; a daughter-in-law Elizabeth Taylor Baker Trinder and husband John of Norfolk; three brothers; James Leonard Morgan and wife Marian of Suffolk, O. Parks Morgan and wife Lottie of Chesapeake, Archie T. Morgan and wife Jane of Southern Pines, NC; a sister Eloise Morgan Raine and husband Arthur of Pocomoke, MD; and a brother-in-law Stuart Kirkpatrick of Chico, CA and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Oxford United Methodist Church for 75 years, Lake Kilby Garden Club and the Tuesday Afternoon book club. She will be remembered for her cheerful outlook on life and her devotion to her family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 31, at Cedar Hill Cemetery by the Dr. Rev. Woodie Rea. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Lake Prince Woods. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Oxford UMC, 601 W. Washington St. Suffolk, VA 23434.
