Frank Jamison Obituary

Frank J. Jamison, 82, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and dear friend, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, September 12, 2021 surrounded by his family. Born May 4, 1939, he grew up in Berkley and attended Maury High School. He leaves behind his loving wife of 59 years, Betty S. Jamison, his son David J. Jamison, his daughter Jill J. Robinson (Ross), and his grandchildren Rebecca and Ross Walker Robinson. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Jamison, his sister Sandra Craghead and their children. He was predeceased by a third grandchild, Derek M. Jamison.

Frank was a great father and grandfather, supporting and cheering at every school and sporting event. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan and the #1 fan of the UNC basketball program. He was an active and devoted member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and was honored as Deacon Emeritus in 2019. Frank was a spiritual leader and mentor throughout his life. He never met a stranger and loved with his whole heart. His bigger than life personality, love for others, impeccable style and storytelling will be sorely missed by his family and countless friends.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Woodland Heights Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. Masks are required inside. The service will also be available through livestream at www.woodlandheightsbaptist.org . An outside reception will be held immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Woodland Heights Baptist Church Bus Fund in his memory. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River chapel is assisting the family. Betty David and Jill and family members. I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many wonderful memories of Frank and the family. I will always give credit to Frank teaching me how to drive a stick shift vw in the parking lot at St. Paul´s Methodist church. We laughed about that all the time.
I was a teen but our families always did so many things together. I feel blessed to have so many memories. My dad Fletcher Sawyer truly loved Frank and Betty and the family. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.
I know that my Lord and Savior have walked with me in my life and I know he will hold all of you in the palm of his hands.
God bless you and my love to you too. Love always Betty Sue

I´ll never forget Frank. From the moment I met him during my first Vacation Bible School at Woodland Heights, I was captivated by his friendly and outgoing personality. He had such a big heart and a wonderful sense of humor. Betty and his family are in my thoughts and prayers.
