Frank Trefny Obituary
Frank Trefny AYDEN - Frank Trefny, 97, died Feb. 14, 2008, at his residence. He was a retired electrical supervisor with Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth. Mr. Trefny was a retired CW2 with the Virginia Army National Guard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Virginia Trefny in October 1996. Survivors include two sons, James Trefny (Suzanne) of Kill Devil Hills and Dr. Frank A. Trefny (Sharon) of Kingstree, S.C.; one daughter, Patricia Dix of the home; one brother, John Trefny of Lititz, Pa.; nine grandchildren, Scott Trefny (Valerie) of Danbury, Conn., Cathy Trefny of Kingstree, S.C., Christine Trefny Schwartz (Cmdr. Roc) of Columbia, S.C., Cheryl Ann Butts (Michael) of Pennsylvania, Craig Trefny (Sharon) of Florence, S.C., Megan Bracy (Scott) of Portsmouth, Pamela Embrey (Scott) of Richmond, Trefny Dix and Bengt Hokanson of Bursville, N.C. and Elizabeth Dix of Whitefish, Mont. and eight great-grandchildren. The service was held Saturday, Feb. 16, in St. Peters Catholic Church, Greenville. Burial was in Pinewood Memorial Church. Farmer Funeral Service is in charge.
