Janice and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Fred's death. I will always remember the times we shared at Rose family gatherings and when I visited Newport News as a child, his wonderful smile and contagious laugh and the love and support he always showed my Dad. Please know that my love and prayers are with you and your family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you today. We pray for your peace as we know that Fred is now at peace. We will miss Fred as he is our Norfolk connection. For years looking at the BB&T and Dominion Towers was looking at Fred. This will not change.

I had the privilege of working with Fred many years ago (1971-79) and had the pleasure of seeing him again for the first time last fall. He was a fine man that will be greatly missed. Mrs. Rose and family:
I just wanted to tell you that I was sorry to hear about the loss of Fred. I did not know him personally, but work with his daughter-in-law, Karen. My family kept him in prayers when he had surgery and after when he was recovering. Please remember that you and your family are in our prayers. This is a difficult time but remember to lean on the Lord and He will uphold you in His hand. God Bless you.

Blake your pop was the Man, I always thought about how lucky you and your family were to have him. Out of all my friend's fathers, Mr. Rose seemed, to me, to be the best mix of friend and disciplinarian; always willing to let us cut loose, but always there to reign us in (if need be).
The thing I remember most about Mr. Rose, and yes he will always be Mr. Rose to me, was his unrelenting cheerfulness. He always greeted me with a smile and a kind word. Often, he would ask about my future plans and give helpful advice on how to achieve what I would dream up. Few others showed concern as sincerely.
He was truly a asset to the world and he'll be sorely missed by many.

I have many fond memories of the whole Rose family being so much more than neighbors for all of those years.
Mr. (and Mrs.) Rose was always so genuinely warm & friendly to me and my family. I'll always remember those days as some of the best of my life. Best wishes go out to all of you, R.I.P. Fred.

Fred was the absolute BEST man anyone could have had as a father-in-law. It saddens my heart so very much to know he is no longer here with us physically, but he will ALWAYS be with us in our hearts and memories, and what wonderful memories we have. Fred was such a caring, honest and gentle man... I can't think of anyone that didn't have respect for him. What a great world this would be if everyone had the integrity and character that he possessed. I miss him greatly!

Janie and I are saddened with the passing of our friend Fred. We have shared so many evenings together. Janice, no man could have asked for a better wife than you have been to Fred and vice versa. We shared some time together in June and Sandy still remembered her place on my knees sitting on the stairwwell. We shall miss Fred very deeply.

I was so sorry to learn of Fred's death. It is never easy to lose that huge part of your life. Our joy can be that he is no longer suffering. I can say that because I lost my husband 12 years ago and I know where he is and that he is free from pain. Only God and the closeness of family and friends will get you through these dark hours.
