Freeman Jones Obituary

Freeman H. Jones EMPORIA - Freeman H. Jones, 86, of Emporia, died June 20, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude E. Jones; two daughters, Jane J. Lilley and husband Curtis of Franklin and Jennifer L. Jones of Jacksonville, Fla.; one son, Freeman H. Jones Jr. and wife Raven of Emporia; three grandchildren, Brandon E. Lilley, Matthew R. Jones and Kayla A. Jones; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Owen Funeral Home, 3030 S. Halifax Road, Jarratt. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 22, in Calvary Baptist Church, Emporia. Interment will follow at Emporia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Calvary Baptist Church, Emporia.

Dear Gertrude, Jane, Hugh and Jennifer,

I am sorry to learn that Freeman passed away. I shall always remember what a kind and thouthful man that he was. Freeman was always a good friend to me when I lived in Emporia. I am sure that his passing will be a great void to you all. Please know that Freeman will always be in my prayers. I pray that the Good Lord will give you all the courage and strenth to get through these next few days and all the days there after. God Bless.
