Jimmie and family,
I had the honor of being Georgie Lee's roommate for six weeks in 1974 at Michigan State University. She was the most delightful person I ever knew. I was the youngest person in our NSF group. She was married, had three daughter and a devoted husband who called her every morning while we were there. Even before I ever met him I knew that I wanted to find a man to marry who was just like Jimmie. We kept in touch over the years and my husband got to meet both Georgie and Jimmie twice when they came through Wisconsin. As I was getting out my Christmas cards list I thought I better check on Georgie and Jimmie's status. I was heartbroken to read this obituary but know she is certainly an angel and caring for others from afar. My prayers are with you, Jimmie, and all of your family and all of the others who loved Georgie.

Georgie Lee was a beautiful person and consummate Christian. She was kind, loving and free from judgement when I needed to just that in my life. I am blessed to have known her and am holding her family in my prayers.

Georgie was full of life and light. I’m so thankful that I was able to stand in her light even if it was only once a year a Mother’s retreat at John’s River Valley camp. I use to kid her and call her grumpy ol’ lady. However she was anything but grumpy. She had a sweet smile, and a hearty laugh and twinkling eyes. Full of wisdom and faith. I’m hoping to go to the retreat this spring but it will not be the same without her. Prayers to her family for their loss.
