Gregory Rankin Obituary

Gregory Rankin VIRGINIA BEACH - Gregory Rankin, 56, of the 2000 block of Manassas Run, passed away Oct. 24, 2010 in Portsmouth Naval Hospital. He was born Nov. 27, 1953 to Louise Nickolas and the late Robert Rankin in Buffalo, N.Y. Gregory served in the U.S. Navy for 30 years. After his retirement he was employed with HRT as bus driver for more than nine years. Gregory was a member of the Harley Davidson, Southside, the Elks and the Mason PHA. He received his associates degree in business administration. He is survived by his wife, Carol Rankin; his mother; two daughters; four sons; three sisters; one brother; 12 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby Street. Interment will be in Pensacola, Fla. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at 2049 Manassas Run, Virginia Beach, one hour prior to the service for the procession to the church.
