Harry Newman Obituary
Virginia Beach - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harry Bateman Newman, Sr. on May 21, 2018. He died suddenly and unexpectedly in W. Palm Beach FL at the age of 61. He was born and raised in Norfolk, VA and lived most of his adult life in Va. Beach until he and his family moved to W. Palm Beach, FL in 2009.
Harry lost his mother at the age of twelve yet he never complained or blamed any struggles down the road on that traumatic time. He was handsome, athletic, witty and had a certain magnetism about his personality. People were drawn to him and he had such a generous nature. He loved boating and fishing and shared a passion for both with his father, Lloyd, whom he adored.
His business accomplishments were many and he had a keen sense of the financial markets which served him well throughout his career. But if he were standing here today- he would say that his children, collectively, were the greatest achievement of his life. Bev, Harry Jr. and Robert were each special in their own way and he loved them that way. He was proud of their accomplishments and felt blessed that he and Kathy had three such great kids.
Harry was predeceased by his parents Nell Bateman Newman and Lloyd Kelland Newman, Sr. and his brother Luke Newman.
He is survived by his children Beverly N. Chung and husband Paul, Harry B. Newman Jr., Robert S. Newman, granddaughters Addison Grace Chung and Charlotte Kathryn Chung, Kathy W. Newman, the mother of his three children, his sister Charlotte N. Hauck and her husband Don, sister Julia N. Shubert and her beloved companion Bill Albertson, sister in law Jolyn Newman, nieces and nephews Carl and Emily Shubert, Mark Shubert, Lloyd (Kelly) Newman III, Matt Newman, and Nell Hauck.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date in W. Palm Beach, FL. Online condolences may be offered to the family at pilotonline.com/obituaries.

Dearest Charlotte(Don),Julie (Bill),Kathy and family. I was deeply sorry and saddened to here about "Harry's " passing, what a shock. I was also very sorry to read about your dads passing. I am sorry to hear of Harry's passing. Over the many years of knowing Harry I always found him to be helpful and encouraging. Always there with good advice and always of good humor. I could count on Harry's guidance, sincerity and truthfulness.

My condolences to Bev, Harry, Robert, Kathy and the rest of the Newman family far and wide that knew and loved Harry. He was a good man and I have many a great memory of growing up with him as my Uncle. He will be missed dearly but I hope that we can find solace in the fact that we're all better people for being able to witness his warmth and love firsthand over the years due to having the unique honor and privilege of calling him family.
