Helen Anne H. Seldon

Helen Anne Hofler Seldon, 78, died October 18, 2018. A native of Portsmouth, she was a retired U.S. Customs Import Specialist. Helen was active at Berea Christian Church in Driver, serving as choir director for many years, and was on the board and served as President of the Southern Conference, United Church of Christ. She was a lifelong advocate for Bassett Hound rescue, supporting Bassett Care and Brood. Survivors include three children, Richard “Rick� Cutchins and longtime partner Teresa Martindale, Robert Cutchins and husband Jamie Rolison, and Kendall Bradshaw and husband Scott; four grandchildren, Keith Cutchins, John Cutchins, Robert “Robbie� Bradshaw, and Helen Anne Bradshaw; and cousin, Frank Wickers and wife Sue. A memorial service will be held on Monday, Oct. 22, at 4 PM in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel by the Rev. Sallye Hardy. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-6 PM.
