James Richard Casper

Chesapeake - James Richard Casper, Sr., 86, passed away December 16, 2016. Richard was born in Eure, NC to the late James and Ida Eure Casper. He worked as a Chesapeake City Bus Driver for 3 years, drove for nineteen years for Trailways Bus, and retired after twenty years with Preston Trucking. At Preston, Richard became a three-time member of the "Million Mile Club". He was a member of Rivercrest Christian Fellowship Church.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 6 years, Jessie Casper; daughters, Brenda White (Jim) and Shirley Roache; step-daughter, Reba Ackiss (Guy); grandchildren, John Ackiss and Adam White; eleven great-grandchildren; constant canine companion, Punkin Casper; and extended family including the employees of the Battlefield Shoney's.

The family will receive friends at Rivercrest Baptist Church, 1510 Campostella Road, Chesapeake, on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 6-7 p.m. with a service to celebrate his life to begin at 7 p.m. Please visit his book of memories at www.grahamfuneralhome.com to leave a condolence to the family.
