James Gwaltney Obituary

James W. Gwaltney VIRGINIA BEACH - James Gwaltney, 97, passed away June 22, 2010. He was born in Virginia to the late Willis and Sarah Gwaltney. James proudly served in the U.S. Army for three years as a first sergeant and a veteran in World War II. He was retired from Texaco Inc. and the Bank of America. He was predeceased by his wife, Bettie. Left to cherish his memory are his nephew, Robert and his wife, Dorothy Foxwell of Virginia Beach; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services are to be held 3 p.m. Saturday, June 26, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 4560 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.altmeyer.com. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462, is handling the arrangements.
