I am so sorry to learn of Howard's passing. I have worked with Howard many times over the years and shown many of his ceramic sculptures and vessels in exhibits at the Portsmouth Art & Cultural Center and offered many for sale through our Gallery Shop. Howard was such a joy to work with, kind and easy going. He will be truly missed by us and for all that knew him.
My condolences to Fraitus and family. Hold his memory close to your heart and may you find comfort in the memories and times that you all shared.
With Love and Respect,
Gayle Paul

My sincerest condolence is extended to Fraitus and the Johnson Family. I was astonished to hear of James Howard
Johnson 's passing.
Howard, as he was affectionately called, was one of the most kindest, considerate and understanding person who I have ever known. That smile of his and that generous personality made him a very special individual. He was an outstanding teacher and friend to so many. He loved teaching ceramics and his craft was highlly recognized and acknowleged by many. He loved his family and his church and was dedicated to them both.
Howard will truly be missed, but God has a "ceramic" plan for him in heaven. Rest in peace.
