Jean Meekins Obituary

Jean L. Meekins VIRGINIA BEACH - Jean Levonne Meekins, 64, passed away in her home March 5, 2009. She was the widow of Lloyd McCoy Meekins Jr. Mrs. Meekins is survived by two daughters, Tammy Meekins and Vickie Gray and her husband Donald E. Gray Jr.; two grandsons, Eric Tyler Gray and Brandyn Michael Meekins; a brother, Albert Whedbee and his wife Jean; and her beloved dog, Hopper. The family will receive friends at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Maestas Chapel, 1801 Baltic Ave., Virginia Beach, Monday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery, Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4416 Expressway Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23452. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.altmeyer.com.

Dear Vickie,
I am so full of sadness for your loss. There truly is nothing like a mother's love. I pray that you and your family are finding some comfort in your love for one another.

I would love to get in touch with you again. It seems we now share an unusual bond. Those carefree days working at the beach seem so long ago.

Take care of yourself. Sending lots of hugs and prayers your way.
