Jeremy Wise Obituary


Jeremy Wise VIRGINIA BEACH - Lt. Jeremy Wise, United States Navy, 28, of VFA-15, "The Valions," NAS Oceana, was tragically killed June 13, 2008, in a training accident in Nevada. A native of Washington, D.C., Jeremy was a lieutenant in the United States Navy serving as an F/A-18C fighter pilot. Jeremy was an amazing and loving husband and father, beloved son and brother. We are extremely proud of Jeremy's dedication to country and service in the United States Navy. We take comfort in knowing that Jeremy was living his life's dream flying with the Valions. Everyone Jeremy came into contact with loved and respected him as an outstanding Naval aviator and loyal friend. He is survived by his wife, Sonia Wise; his son, Liam Wise; his mother, Patricia Wise; his father, Richard Wise; sisters, Elizabeth Miller and husband Michael and Caitlin Gibbens and husband Nicholas; two brothers, Joshua Wise and Christopher Wise; and a sister-in-law, Monica Riera Rosa. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Newton Bakley; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wise; a niece, Rebecca Miller; a nephew, Noah Miller; mother-in-law, Juana Hedreda Rosa; father-in-law, Juan Riera Tur; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, great-aunts and great-uncles. A funeral Mass will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. at Chapel of the Good Shepherd, NAS Oceana, by Father John Lyle, command chaplain. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, today from noon to 3 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that gifts towards Liam's education be donated to the Lt. Jeremy Wise Memorial Fund at Navy Federal Credit Union.
