Jesse Wright Obituary

Jesse R. Wright CHESAPEAKE - Jesse R. Wright, 83, of the 500 block of Longdale Crescent, passed away Jan. 19, 2009, peacefully at home. Jesse was retired from the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II serving 20 years and surviving the sinking of the USS Little off the coast of Okinawa, Japan. He was also a Nationwide insurance agent for 42 years. He is survived by two sons, Terry Wright of Norfolk and Gary Samuel Wright of San Diego; a daughter, Rickey Haughey of Maui, Hawaii; a brother, Dave Wright of Jacksonville, Ark.; a sister, Peggy Schwaiger of Cincinnati; and two grandchildren, Andrew Wright and McKenna Haughey. He is also survived by his companion of 19 years, Betty Palmer of Chesapeake. Burial will be at a later date in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive, is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-browm.com.
