John Frugoli Obituary

John J. Frugoli VIRGINIA BEACH - John J. Frugoli, 91, died Dec. 29, 2010. He was proud World War II veteran and a longtime member of Food Services Executive's Association. John faithfully attended and supported St. Gregory Catholic Church. He loved baseball and even though he was a "Phillies fanatic" one of his favorite sports memories was when he dined with Willie Mays and Joe DiMaggio. Left to cherish John's memory is his loving wife of 56 years, Evelyn; sister-in-law and her husband, Audrey and Earl Hayden; and devoted nieces and nephews. His giving and helpful nature showed in assisting many, whether helping with everyday tasks, providing transportation, meal or comfort. John will always be remembered for his undying love and care he gave to his handicapped wife, Evelyn. He never left her side. Fate played part in that they have both been in the same health care facility since Dec. 6 and until hours before his death he was still trying to care for her. The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to Bayside Health and Rehab for the outstanding care they have given to John and Evelyn (she is still there). Memorial services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, Independence Blvd. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to Virginia Beach SPCA, 3040 Holland Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23453, would be so appreciated and loved by our angel, Johnny.
