John Jennings Obituary

John Robert Jennings, Sr. "Robert", 78, of Virginia Beach, passed away September 8, 2023. Born on March, 27, 1945, Robert was a lifelong resident of Virginia Beach. Preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Sandra "Sandy"; and son, John Robert Jennings Jr. "Robbie", he grew up on Bayville Farms and was a longtime resident of Chesapeake Beach. He attended Cox High School and was a Vietnam veteran having proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was the owner of a successful commercial construction company.

Robert is survived by his brother, Edward Jennings; nieces, Rachel Salazar, Heather Wilson, Kimberly Jennings; nephew, Kevin Jennings; and many other cherished relatives and friends.

He will be fondly remembered for his independent spirit and his playful sense of humor. Above all else, Robert was a loving husband and father. His kindness and compassion for others extended far beyond his immediate family.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel at 1457 Independence Blvd from 1 to 2:30 PM on Monday, September 18, 2023. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com
